UKIDS wants to give back
young children age 6-12 years,
elementary school, the overall joy of what they like to do most:
to PLAY !
But if they don’t see what is being played nowadays, or no one is
telling and showing them what “play” is supposed to be, then we
can’t blame them not knowing how to play.
Therefore 2UKIDS wants all parents and teachers to act now:
stand up and …PLAY !
Organise “play” hours and
teach children the skills for games. Streetgames that children play
have far more influence
then we think: it’s a naturally physical outlet in their growing-up
process and an important socialising skill in their development.
A lot of games can
be used in the schoolclass: as learning tools in the didactic process
of e.g. arithmetic,
music, and gymnastics. Therefore schools will have advantage and
the benefit to implement “play” in the school curriculum as a mature
subject to be taught in class and schoolplayground. But also at
home: there are many
occasions in family life to play together, so go outside, ask all
neighbours to join in playing some games and have fun!
